Abstract

Human nasal microvascular endothelial cells were isolated and cultured from the inferior turbinate. Endothelial cells grew rapidly to confluence and survived serial passages until the eighth subculture in a medium composed of MCDB 107, 10% fetal
bovine
serum, 75¥ìg/ml endothelial cell growth supplement and 24units/ml insulin in the gelatin-coated 60mm dish. The cells were identified as endothelial cells by their morphology and immunofluoresence stain for human factor ¥· antigen. Capillary-like
tubule
formation was usually noted 4-6weeks after confluence. We succeeded in long-term culture of human nasal microvascular endothelial cells from the inferior turbinate. This will provide good model for studying the role of endothelial cells. (Korean
